Rose Valcano

This painting was done in both acrylic and oil paints. I used acrylics to get basic shapes and details, the used oils over it for smooth blended colors. I wanted to create a feeling of movement towards the top, so I made the petals blurred and gestural. The effect I was going for was a valcano of roses erupting.
